For over 25 years, Global Scholars Canada (GSC) has been equipping Christian professors to live out their vocation through cross-cultural teaching, research, and community engagement.

Global Scholars Canada focuses on the development and support of Christian scholars who are Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada and wish to serve at open-enrollment campuses worldwide.

BECOME A GLOBAL SCHOLAR

Imagine a guild of Christian academics around the globe, developing faith-filled educational opportunities for the cultural leaders of tomorrow.

Scholars
Countries

In nations where there may be little to no existing witness to the gospel, these scholars are salt and light (Matthew 5:13-14) for future leaders. They are Godโ€™s ambassadors who are โ€œseeking the peace (shalom) of the city,โ€ (Jeremiah 29:7) through their presence on campuses worldwide. Over the years we have been blessed with quality faculty serving in selfless ways around the world.

More than 130 scholars have served in more than 45 countries.

Mission

Missional Christian academics redemptively influencing students and colleagues, departments and disciplines, at every university worldwide.

Vision

Identify, develop, send, and equip missional Christian academics for open enrollment institutions worldwide with the objective to inspire students and institutional communities with the promise of Christian vocation and worldview for a deeper participation in Godโ€™s kingdom.

Values

Rooted in Jesus Christ as Lord
Vocation and Kingdom-focused
Ecumenical and Interdenominational
Transnational and Cross-cultural
Academic and Unpretentious
Student-Oriented
Economical and Innovative
Transparent and Trustworthy

GSC is a partner in the Society of Christian Scholars (SCS) โ€“ an initiative of Global Scholars in equipping and supporting the community of christian academics worldwide.

The Society of Christian Scholars equips missional Christian academics to have a redemptive influence for Christ among their students, colleagues, institutions, and academic disciplines. By Godโ€™s grace, this results in human flourishing and the common good.

THE GSC & SCS PARTNERSHIP

GSCโ€™s Dr. Peter Schuurman is North American and Pacific Regional Consultant for SCS. GSC are partners, members and contributors. GSCโ€™s website houses Jan Boerโ€™s e-library.

Through this platform, it is now possible for a Senegalese or Russian Christian scholar to interact with Christian peers from Mexico, Lithuania, or China.
